Ben Nevis Challenge 4406ft Britain’s highest mountain Raising money for Breast Cancer Research Date; 8th May – 10th May 2009
• this year 37 people will trek to the summit of Ben Nevis, at 1343m (4406 ft) the highest point in the UK, all of which have little or no walking experience.
• We are hoping to raise over £20,000 for the Epping Breast Cancer Unit in this event
Ben Nevis Itinerary
• Day 1. 10.00 Group meets at Luton Airport for the flight to Glasgow
transfer by coach to Fort William travel Inn, where you will be briefed on the following days trek and receive your packed lunch . Free evening to relax and mix
with fellow fundraisers.
• Day 2. Group meets at 08.00 in for breakfast then 09.00 transfer to base of Ben Nevis.
Here we have last minute check of equipment and photo’s before starting our ascent at 09.30am.
We recommend you stay in groups of 4 or more. This is for both safety reasons and support..
The climb should take between 6-10 hours depending on fitness, Please remember this is not a race,
the object is to complete the climb safely and raise money for charity.
Drinks all round on return to the Ben Nevis Inn situated at the base of the mountain.. Here you will
receive your certificates and reminisce about the day’s events. There is also food here if you are hungry.
Transfer back to hotel for a free evening, where you can relax and eat in the hotel restaurant or visit
the local bars in the town.
Day 3. Breakfast available at hotel restaurant .The group meets at 09.00am for transfer back to Glasgow airport and flight back to Luton Airport.
